OneArt Night: Changing The Picture – Social Good

.

The One Art Night was part of a Social Action Campaign (SAC) by Baingor Joiner and Claire Dale for Uprising, a leadership program. The goal was to provide a social commentary on how diversity is perceived in London and society at large, through the arts.
.
The One Art Night was held at the Rich Mix in Shoreditch, with many thanks to Rushanara Ali, MP. A blank canvas was provided for attendees to contribute to, spoken word, musical performances and art exhibition occurred in the space, all art was exhibited was on the topic of diversity.
.
The event would not have been made possible without the help of Mayor John Biggs of Tower Hamlets. His dedication to enriching the lives of his constituents is the reason he truly is a man of the people.
.
An image of the participatory piece created can be seen below. The canvas was donated towards the Tower Hamlets Arts Awards. Proceeds of the event were donated to Spotlight, a charity in Basingstoke that supports families and carers of children suffering from terminal illness or mental or physical disability.
